NLT 1 Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth! NIV 1 Shout for joy to God, all the earth! NLT 2 Sing about the glory of his name! Tell the world how glorious he is. So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you. NLT 4 Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.” Interlude NIV 4 All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing the praises of your name.” NLT 5 Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! NIV 5 Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind! NLT 6 He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him. NIV 6 He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot— come, let us rejoice in him. NLT 7 For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance. Interlude NIV 7 He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations— let not the rebellious rise up against him. NLT 8 Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises. NIV 8 Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; NLT 9 Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling. NIV 9 he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. NLT 10 You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver. NIV 10 For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. NLT 11 You captured us in your net and laid the burden of slavery on our backs. NIV 11 You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. NLT 12 Then you put a leader over us. We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance. NIV 12 You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance. NLT 13 Now I come to your Temple with burnt offerings to fulfill the vows I made to you— NIV 13 I will come to your temple with burnt offerings and fulfill my vows to you— NLT 14 yes, the sacred vows that I made when I was in deep trouble. NIV 14 vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble. NLT 15 That is why I am sacrificing burnt offerings to you— the best of my rams as a pleasing aroma, and a sacrifice of bulls and male goats. Interlude NIV 15 I will sacrifice fat animals to you and an offering of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. NLT 16 Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. NIV 16 Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me. NLT 17 For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. NIV 17 I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. NLT 18 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. NIV 18 If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; NLT 19 But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. NIV 19 but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. NLT 20 Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me. NIV 20 Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!
