NIV

1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
1 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt,
2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of the months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.
2 “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.
3 Speak unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month let each man take a lamb according to the families of the fathers, a lamb per family;
3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household.
4 and if the household is too small and is not able to eat the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of persons; each one according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat.
5 The lamb shall be without blemish, a male of one year; ye shall take it out from the sheep or from the goats;
5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.
6 and ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month, and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it between the two evenings.
6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.
7 And they shall take of the blood and put it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses in which they shall eat it.
7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.
8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roasted with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
8 That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast.
9 Eat none of it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roast with fire, his head with his legs, and with the entrails thereof.
9 Do not eat the meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire—with the head, legs and internal organs.
