Mark 1:1-13

ESV 1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. NIV 1 The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, ESV 2 As it is written in Isaiah the prophet,"Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way, NIV 2 as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way” — ESV 3 the voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight,'" NIV 3 “a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’ ” ESV 4 John appeared, baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
