25 Und die Söhne Elkanas: Amasai und Achimoth;

26 Elkana, die Söhne Elkanas: dessen Sohn Zophai, dessen Sohn Nachath,

27 dessen Sohn Eliab, dessen Sohn Jerocham, dessen Sohn Elkana.

28 Und die Söhne Samuels: der Erstgeborene Waschni, und Abija. -

29 Die Söhne Meraris: Machli, dessen Sohn Libni, dessen Sohn Simei, dessen Sohn Ussa,

30 dessen Sohn Schimea, dessen Sohn Haggija, dessen Sohn Asaja.

31 Und diese sind es, welche David zur Leitung des Gesanges im Hause Jehovas anstellte, seitdem die Lade einen Ruheplatz hatte;

32 und sie verrichteten den Dienst vor der Wohnung des Zeltes der Zusammenkunft beim Gesang, bis Salomo das Haus Jehovas zu Jerusalem gebaut hatte; und sie standen nach ihrer Ordnung ihrem Dienste vor.

33 Und diese sind es, die da standen, und ihre Söhne: Von den Söhnen der Kehathiter: Heman, der Sänger, der Sohn Joels, des Sohnes Samuels,

34 des Sohnes Elkanas, des Sohnes Jerochams, des Sohnes Eliels, des Sohnes Toachs,

35 des Sohnes Zuphs, des Sohnes Elkanas, des Sohnes Machaths, des Sohnes Amasais,

INTRODUCTION TO 1 CHRONICLES 6

This chapter begins with the fathers and heads of the tribe of Levi, 1Ch 6:1-3, and reckons up the high priests in the line of Eleazar, to the Babylonish captivity, 1Ch 6:4-15 gives an account of the families of the sons of Levi, 1Ch 6:16-30 and of those Levites that were employed as singers, and in other ministrations in the sanctuary in the times of David and Solomon, 1Ch 6:31-49, then follows a repetition of the sons of Aaron in the line of Eleazar, to the said times, 1Ch 6:50-53, and a recital of the dwelling places of the Levites in the several tribes, 1Ch 6:54-81.
