1Now1Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, 2the hour of prayer.

And 3a man who had beenlame from his mother'swomb was being carried along, whom they 4used to setdowneveryday at the gate of the temple which is calledBeautiful, 5in order to begalms of those who were entering the temple.

When he saw6Peter and Johnabout to go into the temple, he began asking to receivealms.

But Peter, along with John, 7fixed his gaze on him and said, "Look at us!"

And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receivesomething from them.

But Petersaid, "I do not possesssilver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: 8In the name of JesusChrist the Nazarene-walk!"

And seizing him by the righthand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened.

9With a leap he stoodupright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praisingGod.

And 10all the peoplesaw him walking and praisingGod;

and they were takingnote of him as being the one who used to 11sit at the BeautifulGate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
