Andwhenhe was full forty yearsold, it cameintohisheart to visithisbrethren the children of Israel.

Andseeingone of them suffer wrong, he defended him, andavenged* him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:

For[a] he supposedhisbrethren would have understoodhow that Godbyhishand would deliver*them:but they understoodnot.

And the nextday he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have setthemat one again,saying, Sirs,yearebrethren;why do ye wrong one to another?

But he that did his neighbourwrongthrusthimaway, saying, Whomadethee a rulerand a judgeoverus?

Wilt*thoukillme,asthoudiddest the Egyptianyesterday?

ThenfledMosesatthissaying,andwas a strangerin the land of Madian,where he begattwosons.

And when fortyyears were expired, there appeared to himin the wilderness of mountSina an angel of the Lordin a flame of fire in a bush.

WhenMosessaw it, he wondered at the sight:and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lordcameuntohim,

Saying, I am the God of thyfathers, the God of Abraham,and the God of Isaac,and the God of Jacob.ThenMosestrembled*, and durstnotbehold.

Thensaid the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thyfeet:for the placewherethoustandestisholyground.
