And he ranbefore, and climbed upinto a sycomore treetoseehim:for he was to pass*that way.

AndwhenJesuscameto the place, he looked up, and sawhim,andsaiduntohim,Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to dayImustabideatthyhouse.

And he made haste, and came down, andreceivedhimjoyfully.

And when they saw it, theyallmurmured, saying, That he was gone to be guestwith a man that is a sinner.

AndZacchaeusstood, and saidunto the Lord;Behold, Lord, the half of mygoods I give to the poor;andif I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

AndJesussaiduntohim*, This dayissalvationcome to thishouse, forsomuch ashealsois a son of Abraham.

For the Son of man is come to seekand to save that which was lost.

And as theyheard these things, he added and spake a parable,becausehewasnigh to Jerusalem,and because theythoughtthat the kingdom of Godshouldimmediatelyappear.

He saidtherefore,A certainnobleman*wentinto a farcountry to receive for himself a kingdom,and to return.

And he calledhistenservants, and deliveredthemtenpounds,[a]andsaiduntothem,Occupytill I come.

Buthiscitizenshatedhim,andsent a messageafterhim,saying, We willnothavethis man to reignoverus.

And it came to pass, that whenhe was returned, having received the kingdom,then he commandedtheseservants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money,[b]that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
