Andwhen he was enteredinto the housefrom the people,hisdisciplesaskedhimconcerning the parable.

And he saith unto them,Areyeso without understandingalso? Do yenotperceive, that whatsoever thing from withoutenterethinto the man, it cannot*defilehim;

Because it enterethnotintohisheart,butinto the belly,and goeth outinto the draught,purgingallmeats?
20
And he said*, That which cometh out of the man,thatdefileth the man.
21
For from within, out of the heart of men,proceedevilthoughts,adulteries,fornications,murders,
22
Thefts,covetousness,[a]wickedness,deceit,lasciviousness, an evileye,blasphemy,pride,foolishness:
23
Allthese evil thingscome from within,anddefile the man.

And from thence he arose, and wentinto the borders of TyreandSidon,andenteredinto an house, and would have no manknow it: but he couldnot be hid.

For a certain woman,whoseyoungdaughterhad an uncleanspirit,heardofhim, and came and fellathisfeet:

Thewomanwas a Greek,[b] a Syrophenician by nation;and she besoughthimthat he would cast forth the devil out ofherdaughter.
27
ButJesussaid unto her,Let the childrenfirst be filled: for it isnotmeet to take the children'sbread,and to cast it unto the dogs.

And she answeredandsaid unto him,Yes,Lord:yetthedogsunder the tableeatof the children'scrumbs.

And he said unto her,Forthissaying go thy way; the devil is gone out ofthydaughter.

And when she was cometoherhouse, she found the devil gone out, and her daughterlaidupon the bed.

Andagain,departingfrom the coasts of TyreandSidon, he cameunto the sea of Galilee,through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech;and they beseechhimtoput his hand upon him.

And he tookhimaside*from the multitude, and puthisfingersintohisears,and he spit, and touchedhistongue;

And looking uptoheaven, he sighed, andsaith unto him,Ephphatha, that is,Be opened.

Andstraightwayhisears were opened, and the string of histongue was loosed, and he spakeplain.

And he chargedthemthat they should tell no man:but the morehechargedthem, so much the more a great deal they published it;
37
And were beyond measureastonished, saying, He hath done all thingswell: he makethboth the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
