Oseas 14:3-9

3 Asiria no puede salvarnos,
ni nuestros caballos de guerra.
Nunca más diremos a ídolos que hemos hecho:
“Ustedes son nuestros dioses”.
No, solamente en ti
los huérfanos encuentran misericordia».

4 El Señor
dice:
«Entonces yo los sanaré de su falta de fe;
mi amor no tendrá límites,
porque mi enojo habrá desaparecido para siempre.

5 Seré para Israel
como un refrescante rocío del cielo.
Israel florecerá como el lirio;
hundirá sus raíces profundamente en la tierra
como los cedros del Líbano.

6 Sus ramas se extenderán como hermosos olivos,
tan fragantes como los cedros del Líbano.

7 Mi pueblo vivirá otra vez bajo mi sombra.
Crecerán como el grano y florecerán como la vid;
serán tan fragantes como los vinos del Líbano.

8 »¡Oh Israel,
mantente lejos de los ídolos!
Yo soy el que contesta tus oraciones y te cuida.
Soy como un árbol que siempre está verde;
todo tu fruto proviene de mí».

9 Que los sabios entiendan estas cosas.
Que los que tienen discernimiento escuchen con atención.
Los caminos del Señor
son rectos y verdaderos,
los justos viven al andar en ellos;
pero en esos mismos caminos, los pecadores tropiezan y caen.

INTRODUCTION TO HOSEA 14

This chapter concludes the book, with gracious promises to repenting sinners, to returning backsliders. It begins with an exhortation to Israel to return to the Lord, seeing he was their God, and they had fallen by sin from prosperity into adversity, temporal and spiritual, Ho 14:1; and they are directed what to say to the Lord, upon their return to him, both by way of petition, and of promise and of resolution how to behave for the future, encouraged by his grace and mercy, Ho 14:2,3; and they are told what the Lord, by way of answer, would say to them, Ho 14:4; and what he would be to them; and what blessings of grace he would bestow on them; and in what flourishing and fruitful circumstances they should be, Ho 14:5-8; and the chapter ends with a character of such that attend to and understand those things; and with a recommendation of the ways of the Lord, which are differently regarded by men, Ho 14:9.
