Proverbs 28:12-22

When 1the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when 2the wicked rise, people hide themselves.
Whoever 3conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who 4confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
Blessed is the one who 5fears the LORD always, but whoever 6hardens his heart will fall into calamity.
Like 7a roaring lion or 8a charging bear is 9a wicked ruler over a poor people.
A ruler who 10lacks understanding is a cruel oppressor, but he who hates unjust gain will prolong his days.
If one is burdened with 11the blood of another, he will be a fugitive until death;[a] let no one help him.
12Whoever 13walks in integrity will be delivered, but he who is crooked in his ways will suddenly fall.
14Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits will have plenty of poverty.
A faithful man will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich 15will not go unpunished.
To show 16partiality is not good, but for 17a piece of bread a man will do wrong.
A 18stingy man[b]19hastens after wealth and does not know that 20poverty will come upon him.
