Psalms 32

1 Blessed is the person whose disobedience is forgiven and whose sin is pardoned.
2 Blessed is the person whom the LORD no longer accuses of sin and who has no deceitful thoughts.
3 When I kept silent [about my sins], my bones began to weaken because of my groaning all day long.
4 Day and night your hand lay heavily on me. My strength shriveled in the summer heat. Selah
5 I made my sins known to you, and I did not cover up my guilt. I decided to confess them to you, O LORD. Then you forgave all my sins. Selah
6 For this reason let all godly people pray to you when you may be found. Then raging floodwater will not reach them.
7 You are my hiding place. You protect me from trouble. You surround me with joyous songs of salvation. Selah
8 [The LORD says,] "I will instruct you. I will teach you the way that you should go. I will advise you as my eyes watch over you.
9 Don't be stubborn like a horse or mule. [They need] a bit and bridle in their mouth to restrain them, or they will not come near you."
10 Many heartaches await wicked people, but mercy surrounds those who trust the LORD.
11 Be glad and find joy in the LORD, you righteous people. Sing with joy, all whose motives are decent.

Psalms 51

1 Have pity on me, O God, in keeping with your mercy. In keeping with your unlimited compassion, wipe out my rebellious acts.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my guilt, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 I admit that I am rebellious. My sin is always in front of me.
4 I have sinned against you, especially you. I have done what you consider evil. So you hand down justice when you speak, and you are blameless when you judge.
5 Indeed, I was born guilty. I was a sinner when my mother conceived me.
6 Yet, you desire truth and sincerity. Deep down inside me you teach me wisdom.
7 Purify me from sin with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear [sounds of] joy and gladness. Let the bones that you have broken dance.
9 Hide your face from my sins, and wipe out all that I have done wrong.
10 Create a clean heart in me, O God, and renew a faithful spirit within me.
11 Do not force me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore the joy of your salvation to me, and provide me with a spirit of willing obedience.
13 [Then] I will teach your ways to those who are rebellious, and sinners will return to you.
14 Rescue me from the guilt of murder, O God, my savior. Let my tongue sing joyfully about your righteousness!
15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will tell about your praise.
16 You are not happy with any sacrifice. Otherwise, I would offer one [to you]. You are not pleased with burnt offerings.
17 The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. O God, you do not despise a broken and sorrowful heart.
18 Favor Zion with your goodness. Rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then you will be pleased with sacrifices offered in the right spirit-- with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings. Young bulls will be offered on your altar.

Psalms 86

1 Turn your ear [toward me], O LORD. Answer me, because I am oppressed and needy.
2 Protect me, because I am faithful [to you]. Save your servant who trusts you. You are my God.
3 Have pity on me, O Lord, because I call out to you all day long.
4 Give me joy, O Lord, because I lift my soul to you.
5 You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, full of mercy toward everyone who calls out to you.
6 Open your ears to my prayer, O LORD. Pay attention when I plead for mercy.
7 When I am in trouble, I call out to you because you answer me.
8 No god is like you, O Lord. No one can do what you do.
9 All the nations that you have made will bow in your presence, O Lord. They will honor you.
10 Indeed, you are great, a worker of miracles. You alone are God.
11 Teach me your way, O LORD, so that I may live in your truth. Focus my heart on fearing you.
12 I will give thanks to you with all my heart, O Lord my God. I will honor you forever
13 because your mercy toward me is great. You have rescued me from the depths of hell.
14 O God, arrogant people attack me, and a mob of ruthless people seeks my life. They think nothing of you.
15 But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient, always faithful and ready to forgive.
16 Turn toward me, and have pity on me. Give me your strength because I am your servant. Save me because I am the son of your female servant.
17 Grant me some proof of your goodness so that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame. You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me.

Psalms 122

1 I was glad when they said to me, "Let's go to the house of the LORD."
2 Our feet are standing inside your gates, Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is built to be a city where the people are united.
4 All of the LORD's tribes go to that city because it is a law in Israel to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
5 The court of justice sits there. It consists of [princes who are] David's descendants.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you prosper.
7 May there be peace inside your walls and prosperity in your palaces."
8 For the sake of my relatives and friends, let me say, "May it go well for you!"
9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek what is good for you.
