A Season of Reflection Week 3 Video: The Action of Joy
Joy features prominently in the story of redemption in the Bible. Biblical joy centers around being happy and excited that something so good, so wonderful has arrived or is coming. Like hope, this joy has a long-term view of life wrapped in great happiness and rejoicing. In Jesus’ own ministry, joy regularly pops up, such as when Zacchaeus welcomed Christ into his own with joy (Luke 19:6) and when Jesus commands his disciples to have joy in their sufferings and to look to their heavenly reward (Luke 6:23).
This Christmas, let your celebrations of God’s greatest promise fulfilled be sparked with joy unspeakable and full of glory (1 Peter 1:8).
