And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man,1 so shall wea bear the likeness of the man from heaven.250
I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood3 cannot inherit the kingdom of God,4 nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.551
Listen, I tell you a mystery:6 We will not all sleep,7 but we will all be changed8--
in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound,9 the dead10 will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
For the perishable11 must clothe itself with the imperishable,12 and the mortal with immortality.
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."b1355
"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"c1456
The sting of death is sin,15 and the power of sin is the law.1657
But thanks be to God!17 He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.1858
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,19 because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.20
