Then Samuel said: Does the Lord take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? Look: to obey is better than sacrifice, to pay attention [is better] than the fat of rams.

And Samuel said, "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.

Then Samuel said, Do you think all God wants are sacrifices - empty rituals just for show? He wants you to listen to him! Plain listening is the thing, not staging a lavish religious production.

But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD : your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.

Und Samuel sprach zu Saul: Hat Jehova Lust an Brandopfern und Schlachtopfern, wie daran, daß man der Stimme Jehovas gehorcht? Siehe, Gehorchen ist besser als Schlachtopfer, Aufmerken besser als das Fett der Widder.

Then Samuel said, "Is the LORD as delighted with burnt offerings and sacrifices as he would be with your obedience? To follow instructions is better than to sacrifice. To obey is better than sacrificing the fat of rams.

Then Samuel said, "Is there [as much] delight for Yahweh in burnt offerings and sacrifices as [there is] in {obeying} Yahweh? Look! {To obey} [is] better than sacrifice; to give heed than the fat of rams.

Samuel dit: L'Eternel trouve-t-il du plaisir dans les holocaustes et les sacrifices, comme dans l'obéissance à la voix de l'Eternel? Voici, l'obéissance vaut mieux que les sacrifices, et l'observation de sa parole vaut mieux que la graisse des béliers.

Samuel aber sprach: Meinst du, daß der HERR Lust habe am Opfer und Brandopfer gleich wie am Gehorsam gegen die Stimme des Herrn? Siehe, Gehorsam ist besser denn Opfer, und Aufmerken besser denn das Fett von Widdern;

Pero Samuel respondió: —¿Qué es lo que más le agrada al Señor : tus ofrendas quemadas y sacrificios, o que obedezcas a su voz? ¡Escucha! La obediencia es mejor que el sacrificio, y la sumisión es mejor que ofrecer la grasa de carneros.

Samuel respondió:«¿Qué le agrada más al SEÑOR:que se le ofrezcan holocaustos y sacrificios,o que se obedezca lo que él dice?El obedecer vale más que el sacrificio,y el prestar atención, más que la grasa de carneros.

Doch Samuel zeide: Heeft de HEERE lust aan brandofferen, en slachtofferen, als aan het gehoorzamen van de stem des HEEREN? Zie, gehoorzamen is beter dan slachtoffer, opmerken dan het vette der rammen.

(And Samuel said, Desireth the Lord burnt sacrifices, and slain sacrifices, or rather, that people obey his voice?) Forsooth obedience to him is better than sacrifices, and to take heed to his word is more than to offer the inner fatness of rams;
