We put no stumbling block in anyone's path,2 so that our ministry will not be discredited.
Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses;
in beatings, imprisonments3 and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger;46
in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit5 and in sincere love;67
in truthful speech7 and in the power of God;8 with weapons of righteousness9 in the right hand and in the left;
through glory and dishonor,10 bad report11 and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;129
known, yet regarded as unknown; dying,13 and yet we live on;14 beaten, and yet not killed;
sorrowful, yet always rejoicing;15 poor, yet making many rich;16 having nothing,17 and yet possessing everything.1811
We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you.1912
We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us.
