and especiallythose who a1indulge the flesh in its corruptdesires and 2despiseauthority. Daring, 3self-willed, they do not tremble when they 4revile angelic bmajesties,
115whereasangels who are greater in might and power do not bring a revilingjudgmentagainst them before the Lord.
But 6these, likeunreasoninganimals, 7born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, revilingwhere they havenoknowledge, will in cthe destruction of those creatures also be destroyed,
suffering wrong as 8the wages of doingwrong. They count it a pleasure to 9revel in the 10daytime. They are stains and blemishes, 11reveling in their ddeceptions, as they 12carouse with you,
14havingeyesfull of adultery that nevercease from sin, 13enticing14unstablesouls, having a hearttrained in 15greed, 16accursedchildren ;
15forsaking17the rightway, they have goneastray, having followed18the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, wholoved19the wages of unrighteousness ;
but he received a rebuke for his owntransgression, 20for a mutedonkey, speaking with a voice of a man, restrained the madness of the prophet.
17These are 21springswithoutwater and mistsdriven by a storm, 22for whom the eblackdarkness has been reserved.
For speaking out 23arrogant words of 24vanity they 25entice by fleshlydesires, by 26sensuality, those who barely27escape from the ones who live in error,
19promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption ; for 28by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved.
For if, after they have 29escaped the defilements of the world by 30the knowledge of the 31Lord and SaviorJesusChrist, they are again32entangled in them and are overcome, 33the last state has becomeworse for them than the first.
2134For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turnaway from 35the holycommandment36handed on to them.
22fIt has happened to them according to the trueproverb, "37A DOGRETURNS TO ITS OWNVOMIT," and, "A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire."
