4Yet let noonea1findfault, and let noneofferreproof; For your people are like those who 2contend with the priest.
So you will 3stumble by day, And the prophetalso will stumble with you by night; And I will destroy your 4mother.
65My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have 6rejectedknowledge, I also will 7reject you from being My priest. Since you have 8forgotten the 9law of your God, I also will forget your children.
The more they 10multiplied, the more they sinned against Me; I will 11change their glory into shame.
They 12feed on the bsin of My people And 13direct their desiretoward their iniquity.
And it will be, like people, 14like priest; So I will 15punish them for their ways And repay them for their deeds.
1016They will eat, but not haveenough; They will 17play the harlot, but not increase, Because they have c18stoppedgivingheed to the LORD.
11Harlotry, 19wine and newwinetake away the dunderstanding.
My people20consult their wooden idol, and their diviner's wandinforms them; For a spirit of harlotry has led them astray, And they have played the harlot, departing efrom their God.
They offersacrifices on the 21tops of the mountains And f22burnincense on the hills, 23Underoak, poplar and terebinth, Because their shade is pleasant. Therefore your daughtersplay the harlot And your gbridescommitadultery.
I will not punish your daughterswhen they play the harlot Or your hbrideswhen they commitadultery, For the men themselvesgoapart with harlots And offersacrifices with 24templeprostitutes; So the peoplewithoutunderstanding are iruined.
15Though you, Israel, play the harlot, Do not let Judahbecomeguilty; Also do not go to 25Gilgal, Or go up to Beth-aven26And take the oath: "As the LORDlives!"
16SinceIsrael is 27stubborn Like a stubbornheifer, jCan the LORDnow28pasture them Like a lamb in a largefield?
17Ephraim is joined to 29idols; 30Let him alone.
Their liquorgone, They play the harlotcontinually; 31Their krulersdearlyloveshame.
1932The windwraps them in its wings, And they will be ashamedbecause of their sacrifices.
