"But you, O Israel, my servant,1 Jacob, whom I have chosen,2 you descendants of Abraham3 my friend,49
I took you from the ends of the earth,5 from its farthest corners I called6 you. I said, 'You are my servant';7 I have chosen8 you and have not rejected you.
So do not fear,9 for I am with you;10 do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen11 you and help12 you; I will uphold you13 with my righteous right hand.1411
"All who rage15 against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced;16 those who oppose17 you will be as nothing and perish.1812
Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them.19 Those who wage war against you will be as nothing20 at all.
For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand21 and says to you, Do not fear; I will help22 you.
Do not be afraid,23 O worm24 Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help25 you," declares the LORD, your Redeemer,26 the Holy One27 of Israel.
"See, I will make you into a threshing sledge,28 new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains29 and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff.3016
You will winnow31 them, the wind will pick them up, and a gale32 will blow them away.33 But you will rejoice34 in the LORD and glory35 in the Holy One36 of Israel.
