Whoever heard me spoke well of me, and those who saw me commended me,1

because I rescued the poor2 who cried for help, and the fatherless3 who had none to assist him.4

The man who was dying blessed me;5 I made the widow's6 heart sing.

I put on righteousness7 as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban.8
15
I was eyes9 to the blind and feet to the lame.10
16
I was a father to the needy;11 I took up the case12 of the stranger.13
17
I broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched the victims14 from their teeth.15
