"Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River12 into the land3 I am about to give to them4--to the Israelites.

I will give you every place where you set your foot,5 as I promised Moses.6

Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon,7 and from the great river, the Euphrates8--all the Hittite9 country--to the Great Seaa on the west.10

No one will be able to stand up against you11 all the days of your life. As I was with12 Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake13 you.

"Be strong14 and courageous,15 because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers16 to give them.

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey17 all the law18 my servant Moses19 gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left,20 that you may be successful wherever you go.21

Do not let this Book of the Law22 depart from your mouth;23 meditate24 on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.25
9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified;26 do not be discouraged,27 for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."28
