23 Like an earthen ¹vessel overlaid with silver ²dross Are burning lips and a wicked heart. 24 He who ³hates disguises it with his lips, But he lays up ⁴deceit in his ^aheart. 25 When ^bhe ⁵speaks graciously, do not believe him, For there are seven abominations in his heart. 26 Though his hatred ⁶covers itself with guile, His wickedness will be ⁷revealed before the assembly.
