You do not delight in sacrifice,1 or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17
The sacrifices2 of God area a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart,3 O God, you will not despise.
18
In your good pleasure make Zion4 prosper; build up the walls of Jerusalem.5
19
Then there will be righteous sacrifices,6 whole burnt offerings7 to delight you; then bulls8 will be offered on your altar.
