Psalm 68:1-6 (New International Version)

View In My Bible

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm. A song.

1 May God arise,1 may his enemies be scattered;2 may his foes flee3 before him. 2 As smoke4 is blown away by the wind, may you blow them away; as wax melts5 before the fire, may the wicked perish6 before God. 3 But may the righteous be glad and rejoice7 before God; may they be happy and joyful. 4 Sing to God, sing praise to his name,8 extol him who rides on the cloudsa9-- his name is the LORD 10-- and rejoice before him. 5 A father to the fatherless,11 a defender of widows,12 is God in his holy dwelling.13 6 God sets the lonely14 in families,b15 he leads forth the prisoners16 with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.17
