Young's Literal Translation
Saying , Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold , ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
And set up false witnesses, which said , This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
Then Ananias answered , Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked : and others said , We will hear thee again of this matter.
Crying out , Men of Israel, help : This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said , Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live .
And because I doubted of such manner of questions, I asked him whether he would go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these matters.
But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself hath appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him.
So when this was done , others also, which had diseases in the island, came , and were healed :
For the heart of this people is waxed gross , and their ears are dull of hearing , and their eyes have they closed ; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted , and I should heal them.
