yet my hands have been free of violence1 and my prayer is pure.2

"O earth, do not cover my blood;3 may my cry4 never be laid to rest!5

Even now my witness6 is in heaven;7 my advocate is on high.8

My intercessor9 is my frienda10 as my eyes pour out11 tears12 to God;

on behalf of a man he pleads13 with God as a man pleads for his friend.
