Young's Literal Translation
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith , I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered , No.
He said , I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write , Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
For Jesus himself testified , that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.
Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did , said , This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard , and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead , and the prophets; and thou sayest , If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead ? and the prophets are dead : whom makest thou thyself?
That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled , which he spake , Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed ?
