How long shall I be with you and bear with you? (ew pote esomai pro uma kai anexomai umwn;). Here the two questions of Mark 9:19 (only one in Matthew 17:17 ) are combined in one sentence. Bear with (anexomai, direct middle future) is, hold myself from you (ablative case umwn). Faithless (apisto) is disbelieving and perverse (diestrammenh, perfect passive participle of diastrepw), is twisted, turned, or torn in two.
