1 Samuel 10:15

15 "Tell me," Saul's uncle asked, "what did Samuel say to you?"

1 Samuel 10:15 Meaning and Commentary

1 Samuel 10:15

And Saul's uncle said
l On hearing he had been with Samuel, and perceiving so great an alteration in Saul, perhaps he began to suspect something about the kingdom; it being what everyone was talking of, and expecting every day to hear from Samuel who should be king, according to the Lord's appointment:

tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said unto you;
the earnestness with which he put this question seems to confirm the above conjecture.

1 Samuel 10:15 In-Context

13 Then Saul finished prophesying and went to the high place.
14 Saul's uncle asked him and his attendant, "Where did you go?" "To look for the donkeys," Saul answered. "When we saw they weren't there, we went to Samuel."
15 "Tell me," Saul's uncle asked, "what did Samuel say to you?"
16 Saul told him, "He assured us the donkeys had been found." However, Saul did not tell him what Samuel had said about the matter of kingship.
17 Samuel summoned the people to the Lord at Mizpah
