1 Fēilìshì rén yǔ Yǐsèliè rén zhēng zhàn , Yǐsèliè rén zaì Fēilìshì rén miànqián taópǎo , zaì jī lì bō shān yǒu beì shā pú dǎo de .

2 Fēilìshì rén jǐn zhuī Sǎoluó hé tā érzi men , jiù shā le Sǎoluó de érzi Yuēnádān , yà bǐ ná dá , maì jī shū yà .

3 Shì paì shén dà , Sǎoluó beì gōngjiànshǒu zhuī shàng , shè shāng shén zhòng ,

4 Jiù fēnfu ná tā bīngqì de rén shuō , nǐ bá chū dāo lái , jiāng wǒ cī sǐ , miǎndé nàxiē wèi shòu gēlǐ de rén lái língrǔ wǒ . dàn ná bīngqì de rén shén jùpà , bù kĕn cī tā .

5 Sǎoluó jiù zìjǐ fú zaì dāo shàng sǐ le . ná bīngqì de rén jiàn Sǎoluó yǐ sǐ , yĕ fú zaì dāo shàng sǐ le .

6 Zhèyàng , Sǎoluó hé tā sān gè érzi , bìng tāde quán jiā dōu yītóng sǐwáng .

7 Zhù píngyuán de Yǐsèliè zhòngrén jiàn Yǐsèliè jūn bīng taópǎo , Sǎoluó hé tā érzi dōu sǐ le , yĕ jiù qì chéng taópǎo , Fēilìshì rén biàn lái zhù zaì qízhōng .

8 Cì rì , Fēilìshì rén lái bāo nà beì shā zhī rén de yīfu , kànjian Sǎoluó hé tā érzi pú dǎo zaì jī lì bō shān ,

9 Jiù bāo le tāde jūn zhuāng , gē xià tāde shǒu jí , dǎfa rén dào ( dào huò zuò sòng dào ) Fēilìshì dì de sì jìng bàoxìn yǔ tāmende ǒuxiàng hé zhòng mín ,

10 Yòu jiāng Sǎoluó de jūn zhuāng fàng zaì tāmen shén de miào lǐ , jiāng tāde shǒuJídéng zaì dà gún miào zhōng .

11 Jīliè yǎ bǐ rén tīngjian Fēilìshì rén xiàng Sǎoluó suǒ xíng de yīqiè shì ,

12 Tāmen zhōngjiān suǒyǒude yǒng shì jiù qǐshēn qián qù , jiāng Sǎoluó hé tā érzi de shī shēn sòng dào yǎ bǐ , jiāng tāmende shī gú zàng zaì yǎ bǐ de xiàngshù xià , jiù jìnshí qī rì .

Chapter 10

The death of Saul.

- The design chiefly in view in these books of the Chronicles, appears to be to preserve the records of the house of David. Therefore the writer repeats not the history of Saul's reign, but only of his death, by which a way was made for David to the throne. And from the ruin of Saul, we may learn, 1. That the sin of sinners will certainly find them out, sooner or later; Saul died for his transgression. 2. That no man's greatness can exempt him from the judgments of God. 3. Disobedience is a killing thing. Saul died for not keeping the word of the Lord. May be delivered from unbelief, impatience, and despair. By waiting on the Lord we shall obtain a kingdom that cannot be moved.
