Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, "See, you are well! 1Sin no more, 2that nothing worse may happen to you."
The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him.
And this was why the Jews 3were persecuting Jesus, 4because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.
But Jesus answered them, "My Father is working until now, and I am working."
This was why the Jews 5were seeking all the more to kill him, 6because not only was he 7breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God 8his own Father, 9making himself equal with God.
So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, 10the Son 11can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.
For 12the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And 13greater works than these will he show him, so that 14you may marvel.
For as the Father 15raises the dead and 16gives them life, so 17also the Son gives life 18to whom he will.
19The Father judges no one, but 20has given all judgment to the Son,
that all may honor the Son, just as they 21honor the Father. 22Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
Truly, truly, I say to you, 23whoever hears my word and 24believes him who sent me has eternal life. He 25does not come into judgment, but 26has passed from death to life.
