Jesus Sends Out the Seventy-Two

1 After this the Lord appointed 1seventy-twoa others and 2sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.

          Woe to Unrepentant Cities

          13 16"Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in 17Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

                  The Return of the Seventy-Two

                  17 25The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, "Lord, 26even the demons are subject to us in your name!"

                      21 34In that same hour 35he rejoiced 36in the Holy Spirit and said, "I thank you, Father, 37Lord of heaven and earth, that 38you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and 39revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for 40such was your gracious will.b
