Brothers,a my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.

For I bear them witness that 1they have a zeal for God, 2but not according to knowledge.
3
For, being ignorant of 3the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.

For 4Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.b

5 For 5Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that 6the person who does the commandments shall live by them. 6 But 7the righteousness based on faith says, 8"Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'"
