Ezekiel 11:10 Meaning and Commentary

Ezekiel 11:10

Ye shall fall by the sword
Of the Chaldeans; not in the city of Jerusalem, but out of it, when it was broken up, and they fled: I will judge you in the border of Israel;
that is, inflict punishment on them, particularly by the sword; which was done at Riblah in the land of Hamath, where the sons of Zedekiah were slain, and all the princes of Judah, ( Jeremiah 52:9 Jeremiah 52:10 ) ; and this was on the border of the land of Israel, ( Numbers 34:8 Numbers 34:11 ) ; and ye shall know that I [am] the Lord;
who knows things, and foretells them before they are; and am able to accomplish all that is threatened; and am just and righteous in all my ways and works; and who am known by the judgments executed by me.

Ezekiel 11:10 In-Context

8 Are you afraid of swords? I will bring soldiers with swords to attack you.
9 I will take you out of the city and hand you over to foreigners. I have sentenced you to death,
10 and you will be killed in battle in your own country. Then everyone will know that I am the Lord.
11 This city will not protect you the way a pot protects the meat in it. I will punish you wherever you may be in the land of Israel.
12 You will know that I am the Lord and that while you were keeping the laws of the neighboring nations, you were breaking [my ]laws and disobeying [my ]commands."
