Habakkuk's Complaint

2 How long,1 O LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen?2 Or cry out to you, "Violence!" but you do not save?3

3 Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate4 wrong?5 Destruction and violence6 are before me; there is strife,7 and conflict abounds.

      5 "Look at the nations and watch-- and be utterly amazed.11 For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.12

      6 I am raising up the Babylonians,a13 that ruthless and impetuous people, who sweep across the whole earth14 to seize dwelling places not their own.15

              Habakkuk's Second Complaint

              12 O LORD, are you not from everlasting?24 My God, my Holy One,25 we will not die.26 O LORD, you have appointed27 them to execute judgment; O Rock,28 you have ordained them to punish.
