He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azaryahu, Michael and Shephatiah. Allthese were the sons of Jehoshaphatking of Israel.

Their fathergave them manygifts of silver, gold and preciousthings, with fortifiedcities in Judah, but he gave the kingdom to Jehorambecause he was the firstborn.

Now when Jehoram had takenover the kingdom of his father and made himself secure, he killedall his brothers with the sword, and some of the rulers of Israelalso.

He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahabdid (for Ahab'sdaughter was his wife ), and he didevil in the sight of the LORD.
