View In My Bible
24 Therefore, this is what the Lord, the LORD Almighty, says: "O my people who live in Zion,1 do not be afraid2 of the Assyrians, who beat3 you with a rod4 and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did. 25 Very soon5 my anger against you will end and my wrath6 will be directed to their destruction.7" 26 The LORD Almighty will lash8 them with a whip, as when he struck down Midian9 at the rock of Oreb; and he will raise his staff10 over the waters,11 as he did in Egypt. 27 In that day12 their burden13 will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke14 from your neck;15 the yoke16 will be broken because you have grown so fat.a 28 They enter Aiath; they pass through Migron;17 they store supplies18 at Micmash.19 29 They go over the pass, and say, "We will camp overnight at Geba.20" Ramah21 trembles; Gibeah22 of Saul flees.23 30 Cry out, O Daughter of Gallim!24 Listen, O Laishah! Poor Anathoth!25 31 Madmenah is in flight; the people of Gebim take cover. 32 This day they will halt at Nob;26 they will shake their fist27 at the mount of the Daughter of Zion,28 at the hill of Jerusalem. 33 See, the Lord, the LORD Almighty, will lop off29 the boughs with great power. The lofty trees will be felled,30 the tall31 ones will be brought low.32 34 He will cut down33 the forest thickets with an ax; Lebanon34 will fall before the Mighty One.35
