View In My Bible
3 and he will delight in the fear1 of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,2 or decide by what he hears with his ears;3 4 but with righteousness4 he will judge the needy,5 with justice6 he will give decisions for the poor7 of the earth. He will strike8 the earth with the rod of his mouth;9 with the breath10 of his lips he will slay the wicked.11 5 Righteousness will be his belt12 and faithfulness13 the sash around his waist.14 6 The wolf will live with the lamb,15 the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearlinga together; and a little child will lead them. 7 The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox.16 8 The infant17 will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper's18 nest. 9 They will neither harm nor destroy19 on all my holy mountain,20 for the earth21 will be full of the knowledge22 of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. 10 In that day23 the Root of Jesse24 will stand as a banner25 for the peoples; the nations26 will rally to him,27 and his place of rest28 will be glorious.29 11 In that day30 the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the remnant31 that is left of his people from Assyria,32 from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt,b33 from Cush,c34 from Elam,35 from Babylonia,d from Hamath36 and from the islands37 of the sea.38 12 He will raise a banner39 for the nations and gather40 the exiles of Israel;41 he will assemble the scattered people42 of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.43 13 Ephraim's jealousy will vanish, and Judah's enemiese will be cut off; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim.44
