Isaiah 24:14-23 (New International Version)

14 They raise their voices, they shout for joy;1 from the west2 they acclaim the LORD's majesty. 15 Therefore in the east3 give glory4 to the LORD; exalt5 the name6 of the LORD, the God of Israel, in the islands7 of the sea. 16 From the ends of the earth8 we hear singing:9 "Glory10 to the Righteous One."11 But I said, "I waste away, I waste away!12 Woe13 to me! The treacherous14 betray! With treachery the treacherous betray!15" 17 Terror16 and pit and snare17 await you, O people of the earth.18 18 Whoever flees19 at the sound of terror will fall into a pit;20 whoever climbs out of the pit will be caught in a snare.21 The floodgates of the heavens22 are opened, the foundations of the earth shake.23 19 The earth is broken up,24 the earth is split asunder,25 the earth is thoroughly shaken. 20 The earth reels like a drunkard,26 it sways like a hut27 in the wind; so heavy upon it is the guilt of its rebellion28 that it falls29--never to rise again.30 21 In that day31 the LORD will punish32 the powers33 in the heavens above and the kings34 on the earth below. 22 They will be herded together like prisoners35 bound in a dungeon;36 they will be shut up in prison and be punisheda after many days.37 23 The moon will be abashed, the sun38 ashamed; for the LORD Almighty will reign39 on Mount Zion40 and in Jerusalem, and before its elders, gloriously.41
