"But now listen, O Jacob, my servant,1 Israel, whom I have chosen.22
This is what the LORD says-- he who made3 you, who formed you in the womb,4 and who will help5 you: Do not be afraid,6 O Jacob, my servant,7 Jeshurun,8 whom I have chosen.
3
For I will pour water9 on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground;10 I will pour out my Spirit11 on your offspring, and my blessing12 on your descendants.134
They will spring up like grass14 in a meadow, like poplar trees15 by flowing streams.165
One will say, 'I belong17 to the LORD'; another will call himself by the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand,18 'The LORD's,'19 and will take the name Israel.
6
"This is what the LORD says-- Israel's King20 and Redeemer,21 the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last;22 apart from me there is no God.237
Who then is like me?24 Let him proclaim it. Let him declare and lay out before me what has happened since I established my ancient people, and what is yet to come-- yes, let him foretell25 what will come.
8
Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim26 this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God27 besides me? No, there is no other Rock;28 I know not one."
