Isaiah 45:15-25 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
15 Truly you are a God who hides1 himself, O God and Savior2 of Israel. 16 All the makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced;3 they will go off into disgrace together. 17 But Israel will be saved4 by the LORD with an everlasting salvation;5 you will never be put to shame or disgraced,6 to ages everlasting. 18 For this is what the LORD says-- he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth,7 he founded it; he did not create it to be empty,8 but formed it to be inhabited9-- he says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other.10 19 I have not spoken in secret,11 from somewhere in a land of darkness;12 I have not said to Jacob's descendants,13 'Seek14 me in vain.' I, the LORD, speak the truth; I declare what is right.15 20 "Gather together16 and come; assemble, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant17 are those who carry18 about idols of wood, who pray to gods that cannot save.19 21 Declare what is to be, present it-- let them take counsel together. Who foretold20 this long ago, who declared it from the distant past?21 Was it not I, the LORD? And there is no God apart from me,22 a righteous God23 and a Savior;24 there is none but me. 22 "Turn25 to me and be saved,26 all you ends of the earth;27 for I am God, and there is no other.28 23 By myself I have sworn,29 my mouth has uttered in all integrity30 a word that will not be revoked:31 Before me every knee will bow;32 by me every tongue will swear.33 24 They will say of me, 'In the LORD alone are righteousness34 and strength.35' " All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame.36 25 But in the LORD all the descendants37 of Israel will be found righteous38 and will exult.39
