"Come together,1 all of you, and listen: Which of [the idols] has foretold2 these things? The LORD's chosen ally3 will carry out his purpose4 against Babylon;5 his arm will be against the Babylonians.a15
I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called6 him. I will bring him, and he will succeed7 in his mission.
"Come near8 me and listen9 to this: "From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret;10 at the time it happens, I am there." And now the Sovereign LORD11 has sent12 me, with his Spirit.1317
This is what the LORD says-- your Redeemer,14 the Holy One15 of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches16 you what is best for you, who directs17 you in the way18 you should go.
If only you had paid attention19 to my commands, your peace20 would have been like a river,21 your righteousness22 like the waves of the sea.
Your descendants23 would have been like the sand,24 your children like its numberless grains;25 their name would never be cut off26 nor destroyed from before me."
Leave Babylon, flee27 from the Babylonians! Announce this with shouts of joy28 and proclaim it. Send it out to the ends of the earth;29 say, "The LORD has redeemed30 his servant Jacob."
They did not thirst31 when he led them through the deserts; he made water flow32 for them from the rock; he split the rock and water gushed out.3322
