This is what the LORD says-- the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel1-- to him who was despised2 and abhorred by the nation, to the servant of rulers: "Kings3 will see you and rise up, princes will see and bow down,4 because of the LORD, who is faithful,5 the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen6 you."

This is what the LORD says: "In the time of my favor7 I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you;8 I will keep9 you and will make you to be a covenant for the people,10 to restore the land11 and to reassign its desolate inheritances,129
to say to the captives,13 'Come out,' and to those in darkness,14 'Be free!' "They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill.1510
They will neither hunger nor thirst,16 nor will the desert heat or the sun beat upon them.17 He who has compassion18 on them will guide19 them and lead them beside springs20 of water.

I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways21 will be raised up.2212
See, they will come from afar23-- some from the north, some from the west,24 some from the region of Aswan.a "

Shout for joy,25 O heavens; rejoice, O earth;26 burst into song, O mountains!27 For the LORD comforts28 his people and will have compassion29 on his afflicted ones.3014
But Zion31 said, "The LORD has forsaken32 me, the Lord has forgotten me."

"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child33 she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!3416
See, I have engraved35 you on the palms of my hands; your walls36 are ever before me.
