The sons of your oppressors1 will come bowing before you; all who despise you will bow down2 at your feet and will call you the City3 of the LORD, Zion4 of the Holy One5 of Israel.
"Although you have been forsaken6 and hated, with no one traveling7 through, I will make you the everlasting pride8 and the joy9 of all generations.
You will drink the milk of nations and be nursed10 at royal breasts. Then you will know11 that I, the LORD, am your Savior,12 your Redeemer,13 the Mighty One of Jacob.1417
Instead of bronze I will bring you gold,15 and silver in place of iron. Instead of wood I will bring you bronze, and iron in place of stones. I will make peace16 your governor and righteousness your ruler.1718
No longer will violence18 be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction19 within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation20 and your gates Praise.2119
The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light,22 and your God will be your glory.2320
Your sun24 will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow25 will end.
Then will all your people be righteous26 and they will possess27 the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted,28 the work of my hands,29 for the display of my splendor.3022
The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation.31 I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly."32
