Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance,1 for no godless2 man would dare come before him!3

Listen carefully to my words;4 let your ears take in what I say.

Now that I have prepared my case,5 I know I will be vindicated.6

Can anyone bring charges against me?7 If so, I will be silent8 and die.9

"Only grant me these two things, O God, and then I will not hide from you:

Withdraw your hand10 far from me, and stop frightening me with your terrors.11

Then summon me and I will answer,12 or let me speak, and you reply.13

How many wrongs and sins have I committed?14 Show me my offense and my sin.15

Why do you hide your face16 and consider me your enemy?17
25
Will you torment18 a windblown leaf ?19 Will you chase20 after dry chaff ?21
26
For you write down bitter things against me and make me inherit the sins of my youth.22
