Job 29:10-20 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
10 the voices of the nobles were hushed,1 and their tongues stuck to the roof of their mouths.2 11 Whoever heard me spoke well of me, and those who saw me commended me,3 12 because I rescued the poor4 who cried for help, and the fatherless5 who had none to assist him.6 13 The man who was dying blessed me;7 I made the widow's8 heart sing. 14 I put on righteousness9 as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban.10 15 I was eyes11 to the blind and feet to the lame.12 16 I was a father to the needy;13 I took up the case14 of the stranger.15 17 I broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched the victims16 from their teeth.17 18 "I thought, 'I will die in my own house, my days as numerous as the grains of sand.18 19 My roots will reach to the water,19 and the dew will lie all night on my branches.20 20 My glory will remain fresh21 in me, the bow22 ever new in my hand.'23
