Job 5:17-27 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
17 "Blessed is the man whom God corrects;1 so do not despise the discipline2 of the Almighty.a3 18 For he wounds, but he also binds up;4 he injures, but his hands also heal.5 19 From six calamities he will rescue6 you; in seven no harm will befall you.7 20 In famine8 he will ransom you from death, and in battle from the stroke of the sword.9 21 You will be protected from the lash of the tongue,10 and need not fear11 when destruction comes.12 22 You will laugh13 at destruction and famine,14 and need not fear the beasts of the earth.15 23 For you will have a covenant16 with the stones17 of the field, and the wild animals will be at peace with you.18 24 You will know that your tent is secure;19 you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing.20 25 You will know that your children will be many,21 and your descendants like the grass of the earth.22 26 You will come to the grave in full vigor,23 like sheaves gathered in season.24 27 "We have examined this, and it is true. So hear it25 and apply it to yourself."26
