The house1 he builds is like a moth's cocoon,2 like a hut3 made by a watchman.
He lies down wealthy, but will do so no more;4 when he opens his eyes, all is gone.5
Terrors6 overtake him like a flood;7 a tempest snatches him away in the night.8
The east wind9 carries him off, and he is gone;10 it sweeps him out of his place.11
It hurls itself against him without mercy12 as he flees headlong13 from its power.14
It claps its hands15 in derision and hisses him out of his place.16
