9Therefore we alsohave as our ambition, whether at homeorabsent, to be 1pleasing to Him.
10
For we mustallappearbefore2the judgmentseat of Christ, so that eachone may be recompensed for ahis deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whethergoodorbad.
11Therefore, knowing the 3fear of the Lord, we persuademen, but we are mademanifest to God ; and I hope that we are 4mademanifestalso in your consciences.
12
We are not 5againcommendingourselves to you but are giving you an 6occasion to be proud of us, so that you will have an answer for those who takepride in appearance and not in heart.
13
For if we bare 7besideourselves, it is for God ; if we are of soundmind, it is for you.
14
For the love of Christ8controls us, having concludedthis, that 9onedied for all, thereforealldied ;
15
and He died for all, so that they who live might nolonger10live for themselves, but for Him who died and roseagain on their behalf.
16Therefore from now on we recognizenoonec11according to the flesh ; eventhough we have knownChristdaccording to the flesh, yetnow we know Him in this way nolonger.
17Thereforeifanyone is 12in Christ, ehe is 13a newcreature ; 14the oldthingspassedaway ; behold, newthings have come.
18Now15all these things are from God, 16whoreconciled us to HimselfthroughChrist and gave us the 17ministry of reconciliation,
19namely, that 18God was in Christreconciling the world to Himself, 19not counting their trespasses against them, and fHe has gcommitted to us the word of reconciliation.
20Therefore, we are 20ambassadors for Christ, 21as thoughGod were making an appealthrough us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be 22reconciled to God.
21
He made Him who 23knewnosin to be 24sin on our behalf, so that we might become the 25righteousness of God in Him.
