The Church at Antioch
198Sothenthose who were scatteredbecause of the persecution that occurred in connection with Stephenmade their way to 9Phoenicia and 10Cyprus and 11Antioch, speaking the word to nooneexcept to Jewsalone.

But there were some of them, men of 12Cyprus and 13Cyrene, whocame to 14Antioch and began speaking to the 15Greeksalso, 16preaching the LordJesus.

And 17the hand of the Lord was with them, and 18a largenumber who believedturned to the Lord.

The newsabout them reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent19Barnabasoff to 20Antioch.

Then when he arrived and witnessed21the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resoluteheart to remain true to the Lord;

for he was a goodman, and 22full of the HolySpirit and of faith. And 23considerablenumbers were brought to the Lord.
