And he was reasoning1in the synagogueevery2Sabbath and trying to persuade3Jews and Greeks.

But when4Silas and Timothy5camedown from 6Macedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, solemnly7testifying to the Jews that 8Jesus was the Christ.

But when they resisted and blasphemed, he 9shook out his garments and said to them, "Your 10blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go11to the Gentiles."

Then he leftthere and went to the house of a mannamedTitiusJustus, 12a worshiper of God, whosehouse was next to the synagogue.

13Crispus, 14the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord15with all his household, and many of the 16Corinthians when they heard were believing and being baptized.

And the Lordsaid to Paul in the night by 17a vision, "Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent;
10
for I am with you, and noman will attack you in order to harm you, for I have manypeople in thiscity."

And he settled there a year and sixmonths, teaching the word of Godamong them.

But while Gallio was 18proconsul of 19Achaia, 20the Jews with oneaccordrose up againstPaul and brought him before21the judgmentseat,

saying, "Thismanpersuadesmen to worshipGodcontrary to 22the law."

But when Paul was about to 23open his mouth, Galliosaid to the Jews, "If it were a matter of wrongor of viciouscrime, OJews, it would be reasonable for me to put up with you;
